Though the pandemic may seem like it is fading away the aftermath of its diaster has caused a rise in the mental illness community. Mental illness was made aware of beginning in the late 13th century and though it was handled in a different way we have learned and progressed from its findings. Arizona has found that 61 percent of adults experience mental illness but do not receive treatment. The average wait time to schedule an appointment in the state of Arizona to see an counselor or psychiatrist is almost three months out. This puts us at the bottom of the chart for importance of mental health compared to other states in America. Why was there a rise in individuals seeking help during Covid? This literature review will break that down for you.
